Tis the Season...

Tis the season...

And a wonderful season it is.

The Christmas Season!

Many, many years ago Jesus came down from heaven to earth as a baby. He came to live among us and teach us His loving ways. Then He paid the price that none of us could pay ourselves for our sins. He was crucified and died. On the third day He rose from the dead and whoever believes in Him will be saved and live eternally with Him.

He is preparing a place for all of those who make the decision to believe in Him and follow Him.

What better reason is there to celebrate!

A few years ago, a lot of people's retirement plans went right out the door. They had worked hard to make sure to provide an income for the later years in their lives only to see it dissipate. A large number of people haven't seen their retirement be replaced yet.

It's discouraging to give so much of yourself, for your future, only to have it taken away.

Yet, our future here is really very short lived. Sometimes we don't even make it to those years we worked for, but every person will make it to that final place called death. No one misses that part of life. It is a guarantee.

So we can work and work, and plan and plan, for our future years on earth, which is wise, but then never see it.

However, we will see out future in eternity.

The great thing is, we don't have to work and work to receive the future that Jesus has for us. The future after living here is much longer than we can imagine, because it is forever. There isn't anymore endings. What we get is it.

And Jesus knows what eternity looks like. He knows the past, present, and future. He wants the best for people. He loves us.

So when He came here to give His life for us, and offer to take the place of our sins, instead of us having to pay the price, it is a big GIFT.

Bigger than what you can buy, bigger than what you can work at achieving.

This season there is a true reason to celebrate. Not because we have good jobs, nice houses, lots of presents, health, friends, and loved ones, although those are super good blessings. The reason to celebrate is our future is in His hands if we believe. He loves us so much, He already took care of our future.

We just have to believe and receive.

How awesome is that gift?

There is no better.

Yes! We need to choose Christ's sacrifice for us. Many people think they have to have awesome feelings or great emotion to accept Christ. For some, becoming a born-again believer is simply a matter of choice. A decision as easy as sitting on a chair and expecting it to hold you up. We make those kinds of decisions all the time in life, but we expect great emotion or euphoria in a spiritual decision. Believe me, the joy, the emotion and the euphoria will come after the decision!   I read the text that said you were gone. The disappointment, the deepening of missing you, increased immediately, and grief filled my being. Let Love Shine

When I picked up my phone yesterday I had the thought, I wonder what is happening on Facebook today. My next thought was, I hope nothing bad happened . The first post - something bad had happened in Vegas. I looked at the news. Are there any words to express about something, that my mind cannot grasp, had  happened? Then it got personal when I discovered a couple of my family members knew people who had lost their lives at this concert and others who were injured. I have no words. I cannot grasp who or why would do such a horrible thing. And whenever I think of what the people at the concert went through, while running away from the bullets, there is no words, only tears. I am not normally a name caller, but no matter what his mental condition was at the time, no matter what his reasons, only a little coward would do what he did. The people had no way to defend themselves. No way to counter attack. Purely an evil cowardly act of violence. And the point? There is none. ...

Praying? Really?

  I made a comment couple of days ago, of how I would like to be like Peter or Paul right now. I would like to be so close and open to hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit that I can say to her, as she lays before me on the hospital bed, with machines, and skilled nurses working to keep her alive, and comfortable, "Rise and walk, in Jesus name." Or I could clearly hear God say she will, but she will rise into eternity with Me. Instead I pray desperate prayers. I know stories of miracles. I want one now.   I also want to be able to accept if what I want Him to do, is not what He is going to do. I asked myself, and God, How does my faith apply here? How? Looking at the situation, a negative statement made about prayers and miracles frustrated me, and I wanted to have an opportunity  to have a comeback. I suddenly wanted my prayers for a miracle to say, THIS IS WHY I PRAY! Science is silent when God speaks and God moves! Then I asked, how does my faith, my prayers...
