Evil Ignored The Eyes Of A Child

I know how fast life can change - forever. One moment life is going a certain way and the very next second - life isn't. 

 I remember the day, I walked up to the flagpole at my daughters elementary school, to pick up her up and bring her home after the final bell. I discovered someone's child in Portland disappeared from school. That was the first report.

Today is the anniversary of that disappearance.  The boy has never been found. There is a lot of speculation of who did it, but what is most important is, he has NOT been found. 

Each day the parents must awaken with the hope to find him. At the end of the day, I can imagine the devastating discouragement and pain when he is not found. It has been 12 years and how can a person ever lay that to rest? 

Last week children were at school in a quiet small town. It was just after recess and the teacher found herself in a struggle with the door and a gunmen pushing into the classroom.

The teacher tried to protect the children - then she was gone as he opened fire.

The memorials started this past weekend for the teachers and children who were viciously slaughtered in their small town elementary classrooms.

The gunmen bought himself these things for his eighteenth birthday and he had a plan. 

 That evil plan has caused destruction in a senseless way.

The parents, brothers, sisters, friends, relatives, have a hole in their daily lives they cannot refill.

Those bullets didn't just kill those in front of the gun, but it killed dreams, and hopes, but it didn't and cannot kill the love that connected the victims to those who are still alive.  

Evil is destructive.

Evil has no boundaries. 

Evil has no love. 

BUT evil cannot destroy love. 

Love is more powerful.

Love is forever. 

In each of these situations the love will not ever die between the victims and those who are still here. 

The Bible says God is LOVE. 

The Bible says there is an evil one. 

Not to confuse them. 

The evil does destruction. 

Love does the good. 

God said when there is evil in the land for His people to pray and He will heal our land. 

This is not a gun blog.  I just want to say though, someone has to pull the trigger. There was a person who looked into the eyes of a child and had no mercy. There was a person who planned evil. He purposed to do this.  

And I also have to say that type of trigger and ammo should NOT be in the hands of an eighteen year old. It is only obvious it was of evil intent. 

Christians there is power in the One we pray to. He is the God of all creation. He calls us to talk to Him. 

The movie the TERMINATOR tells of a robot who was sent to the past to kill a woman that would give birth to the one who would win the war against the robots. 

This robot had a purpose to kill her no matter what. He had no feeling toward her only a purpose.

Another was sent to protect this woman and he did, no matter what. He died and the woman and the child, who ended up being his child, lived.

The Bible tells us about the destruction the evil one will do. He steals, kills and destroys.  That is what he does. 

However, God sent His Son to protect us no matter what. And He did. He died for us. The battle is won. 

We now have free access to talk to the heavenly Father because of Jesus His Son. 

Father in Jesus name, I pray for a blanket of comfort to cover those who have lost their loved ones, for those who are looking for their loved ones, and for those who are angry at what evil did in our land. I pray you would comfort the hearts and minds of the children and teachers who survived. Hold them so close they can feel it. Empower them. Lift them up. Strengthen them. 

I ask for hearts of those with evil intent to change, to love instead. For their minds to have an understanding of what their actions will do. I pray they will feel the pain it would cause others, themselves, make them empathetic. That they would be freed from the temptation to randomly hurt or use or control or kill another person. I pray for healing for those people. That they would be free from the evil chains that bind them and be free to walk in Your love instead. 

I pray for the protection of those who are in the sight of an evil minded person. Blind the eyes of the person with evil intent, foul their plans, and hide the person from them, who would be a victim to their evil intent. 

Lord forgive us of our own evil. Lead us to walk with You, talk with You and be with You forever and always.

When I picked up my phone yesterday I had the thought, I wonder what is happening on Facebook today. My next thought was, I hope nothing bad happened . The first post - something bad had happened in Vegas. I looked at the news. Are there any words to express about something, that my mind cannot grasp, had  happened? Then it got personal when I discovered a couple of my family members knew people who had lost their lives at this concert and others who were injured. I have no words. I cannot grasp who or why would do such a horrible thing. And whenever I think of what the people at the concert went through, while running away from the bullets, there is no words, only tears. I am not normally a name caller, but no matter what his mental condition was at the time, no matter what his reasons, only a little coward would do what he did. He Chose You To Love You

  Pretty much every morning I open my eyes to a cute little cat staring at me waiting for me to wake up. My other cat is prowling around the bed meowing trying to get me up, usually way before I want to wake up. I say good morning to them, pet them, and they follow me around the room. Then I go into my office where my dogs sleep and let them out of their kennels. Those two dogs get so excited. Their tails wag, and their little bodies wiggle crazily about me while I pet them. Then they greet each other by panting in each other’s faces, chewing at each other, and wagging their tails more. It is truly an ordeal to get down the stairs safely, they are so excited. Once they go outside and eat, as soon as I sit down, they wiggle their way to me and rub their excited little bodies up against me and just want to be talked to and petted. They get so excited as I talk to them and get full of energy, rolling on the floor, jumping, and ending up wrestling with one another. Each of these 4 animals

WHAT IF?

  WHAT IF? “What are you going to do if God doesn’t answer your prayer?” My neighbor’s question left me stunned. Surely God would answer my prayer. I could see no reason at all for God to not answer my prayer. I spent quite a while praying that night, in my backyard, looking at the moon. It looked huge and seemed so close to earth that I felt as though I could reach out and touch it or even step right onto it. I knew God created that moon. He spoke it into existence. As a new believer I had not even considered God would not answer my prayer.  He spoke the entire world into existence.  He can answer my prayer. It has been over 30 years since the night my neighbor asked me that question. Did God answer my prayer? Not the way I wanted the prayer to be answered. It was a season of grieving and growing for me.
