TETELESTAI
Tetelestai.
It is finished.
The debt has been paid.
Per Jesus.
He paid our debt in full.
When Jesus was on the cross, they mocked Him.
Mark 15:27 - 32 NIV
"They crucified two rebels with him, one on his right and one on his left. [28] 29 Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads and saying, “So! You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, 30 come down from the cross and save yourself!” 31 In the same way the chief priests and the teachers of the law mocked him among themselves. “He saved others,” they said, “but he can’t save himself! 32 Let this Messiah, this king of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe.” Those crucified with him also heaped insults on him."
Jesus could very well have come down from the cross to save Himself...but He didn't...because He didn't come for Himself. He came for you.
He came to save You and me.
He died and rose again on the third day. Then after appearing to his disciples and some other's He rose up to heaven with the promise that He would be returning someday.
He came and did that for us.
Because of the Father's love...
John 3:16 NIV
"16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son."
This is what Easter is all about.
If you ever wondered if you were loved...You are.
If you ever wondered if anyone cared about you and your future...He does.
If you ever wondered if you were of any value to anyone...You definetly are.
Jesus was tortured and nailed to a cross.
Romans 5:8 NIV
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
While we were messing up...Jesus paid the price for it.
He loves you.
Believe it.
Receive it.
