Just Don't Know Better

This photo shows a SURVIVOR

The flower in the picture above, came back after being attacked by the teeth of a cute little puppy, named Buddy.

The plant had filled the pot with it's beauty and Buddy snatched it out and chewed on it.

At the time Buddy didn't know any better.

Back then, everything in front of the little guy went in his little puppy mouth if possible.

Admittedly, I felt disappointment when this and many other plants got attacked by this little dog. However, he just didn't know any better, and it was a season of learning for him.

When this plant, and a few others, were able to come back to life, it was a nice surprise.

There are times, a person can, without really knowing any better, destroy something of value, or hurt my feelings, or just really mess up and frustrate me.

It can be hard to deal with people who just don't know any better or that do know better. It can be hard to deal with the damage that they cause in our lives.

I mess up too. Make huge mistakes, say the wrong thing and hurt people's feelings. I will admit my writing journal holds the question, "How did I end up here again?"

Psalm 32:8 "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye."

In the light of eternity, and in my relationship with God, just like that puppy, where everything was up for grabs, while learning right behavior, I am maturing, and learning the more I listen and learn, as God instructs and teaches me.

A process.

Now I can look back and remember with a smile when he was a rowdy little puppy.

Buddy as a puppy could wear us down during the day as he picked up one thing after another and ran off with it. We would have to get it before he destroyed it.

Namely, breakfast. Could not step away from your plate. Nor SHOES. Once the shoes were off the feet they were his chew toy.

He loved Birkenstock sandals.

It took work to teach that lively little fur ball to leave things alone. And it could be tiring.

With God, the Bible tells us in Psalm 121:3-4 that He doesn't slumber, He doesn't slumber or sleep!

As I write my shortcomings in my journal I can confidently know, God is going to be there instructing me, forgiving me, and He is not going to go to sleep on me!

Every day ,Buddy got better and better, well..
Except with food. Oh and shoes...we have differing opinions, he believes they are to be carried outside. (Lol)

Yep, I have things  where I get better and better, EXCEPT..

(My friend wrote a song based on Psalm 121 that we sang often around our house. It is to blues music.)

He never sleeps
He never slumbers
He watches over you
Both night and day
He never sleeeeeps
He never slumbers
He watches over you
Both night and day.

That is something to be totally grateful for, isn't it?
