The Artwork of God!

Last night the stars sparkled against the dark sky as my husband and I walked the dogs.

The sparkly lights caught my attention quite a few times while we were out. I admired the beauty of them, it brought a smile to my heart.

This morning the sky is an incredible spring blue, the birds are singing, leaves are filling the trees, flowers are blooming, and the weather is just the right temperature.

The sun is casting its shadows across my walls as it peeks through my windows creating an artwork of its own.

God's artwork is so wonderful to see.

Every day in a different way, we see God's artwork,  whether a colorful sunrise coming up over the mountains, or a beautiful sunset sprinkles colors over the ocean as it drops down, inviting the moon to shine for the night.

In the beginning of time God created so much beauty we continue to see even today.

In the midst of that beauty can come powerful storms that wreck havoc on this earth. Destroying the joy of enjoying the beauty that surrounds us.

And then...

The sun rises bright in the sky. A tiny sprout comes up from the ground giving a piece of hope. Hope there will be beauty and joy again.

Isn't that a hearts desire? Not to see devastation and destruction, but rather to see the wonderful artwork of God.

Isn't the hearts desire to have hope, peace, joy, love, and anything, anything good?

God's artwork allows us an outward view of hope, joy, peace.

There is an inward hope, joy, peace, and love we can have consistently each day. Even when the storms come through and cause inward heartfelt devastation and destruction.

That is through our Lord and Savior Jesus.

On Palm Sunday Jesus sat on a donkey riding into Jerusalem. The people worshipped Him and waved palm branches.

John 12:12

"The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem.

13 They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,

ā€œHosanna!ā€

ā€œBlessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!ā€

ā€œBlessed is the king of Israel!ā€

14 Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, as it is written:ā€œDo not be afraid, Daughter Zion;

    see, your king is coming,

    seated on a donkey’s colt.ā€

16 At first his disciples did not understand all this. Only after Jesus was glorified did they realize that these things had been written about him and that these things had been done to him.

17 Now the crowd that was with him when he called Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to spread the word.

18 Many people, because they had heard that he had performed this sign, went out to meet him."

What a wonderful day they must have had to worship the King of Kings as He enters Jerusalem.

Yet we all know how this story ends.

We celebrate Good Friday this week. The story ends horribly. Jesus died after being tortured.

BUT consistent to God's artwork in His creation - just as the sun rises each morning - HOPE rises on a new day!

Jesus ROSE from the dead.

He walked among us before ascending into heaven. He served breakfast to His disciples, visited them where they were hiding, and walked and talked, then broke bread with others!

Then He ascended to heaven with the promise of His return!

He did all of that for us! Us! The whole world!

John 3:16

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

An eternal hope!

Is that your hearts desire?

It is mine.

Believe on God's one and only Son and receive the gift of eternal life.
