Don't Stop - Keep Praying And Believing

The other night, my husband and I spent some time in prayer. The next morning he left my Bible open to this verse for me to read. Mark 11: 20 – 24 “Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.” 22So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” If you read some of the stories in the books of Acts you can see amazing things the apostles were able to do in the name of Jesus. Who Will You Choose To Follow?

I was reminded during our James study at church of one of my favorite stories in the Bible about Elijah.
In 1Kings 18:21 – 40, Elijah stood before all Israel and the 450 prophets of Baal and the 400 prophets of Asherah who were supported by Jezebel. He asked, “How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him! But if Baal is God, then follow him!” But the people were completely silent.
He then had them pick between two bulls, and to cut the bull into pieces, then build an altar of wood without setting fire to it. He too would build an altar of wood and put a bull on the altar without setting fire to it.
He challenged them to call on the name of their God and He would call on the name of the LORD. “The god who answers by setting fire to the wood is the true God!” And all the people agreed.
So he let them go first (the prophets of Baal). They called out to Baal and got NO answer. They danced around the altar, they cut themselves, they shouted lo…
